The Cadillac of toaster ovens!
When my old B&D died unexpectedly after many hard years, it was time to step up a notch for a replacement. Being single, this had been my go-to appliance instead of the big oven. So, I needed a solid replacement. At first, I balked at the price tag. Also, I had never heard of Breville before. But I liked what I saw, and my gut feeling said "quality". It's a bit hard to judge exactly how big the oven is from the website images. I was concerned it would use up too much counter-top space. I measured and figured it would work OK.
When it arrived and I opened the box, immediately I was very impressed with the build quality and feel. Love the magnetic rack pull-out feature, digital controls, a real broiler set and pizza pan. My first test was a frozen pizza using the nonstick pan. Perfection. Set it and forget it 'til the beeper goes off. Toast the next morning was dead perfect medium browned at the middle setting. I always had trouble with my old B&D, had to set it way down light to avoid burning toast, and oven control was tricky for baking. No more!
If I had to nitpick, it radiates a LOT of heat when running at high temp (450F for pizza), and cord is just a bit short, but the finger-pull plug design is genius. Should be made the UL standard for safety. Would I buy it again.......in a heartbeat! You won't be disappointed! - First Time Buyer of Brand This is the first item we have bought from Breville. This product is awesome. We love our Smart Oven. The reason we bought this product is due to our ovens breaking. The SmartOvenis thebiggest of them out there. The features are great, works faster than a regular oven and is compact. I even think my cookies cook better in this product. We are now looking to buy more products from this company. - Best toaster oven!! When I bought this toaster oven I was replacing one that I bought at J.C.Penney. My old oven became "unrepairable" according to the company after only 3 months. The company offered to replace it. I decided to buy a different brand. After much research online, i decided on the Breville. This oven is the BEST toaster oven I've ever owned. It is built better and cooks better. I have used this for approximately 75% of my cooking. I highly recommend this toaster oven without any reservation to anyone who needs to purchase one.

I bought the item strictly as a show piece to place on top of the Breville BOV800XL The Smart Oven 1800-Watt Convection Toaster Oven with Element IQ. great addition to a busy kitchen
This oven is perfect in design and quality. I have also found that it cooks some foods more efficiently and a little faster than the conventional oven. We will use this often - especially going into the hot summer months - over the standard oven. You won't go wrong buying this item - and it looks great in the kitchen! I am also anxious to purchase a couple of the accessories....cutting board and pizza stone.
- The best toaster/convection oven! I bought this to replace a Cuisinart I had for a couple of years that just died. I saw all the great reviews on this one & decided to give it a try. Best move I've ever made. The Cuisinart was so noisy, especially when using the convection mode. My Smart Oven is so quiet, sometimes I forget it's even on till I hear the ding. I highly recommend it.

So far so good
I have been looking for a good combo toaster/convection oven for several years. The first test is to open the door and check the overall feel. This one reminds be of my days as a pizza cook using a heavy duty Blodget professional oven. Smooth operation, nice heft and feel, plus the magnetic shelf pull out is a really nice safety feature. (I used to burn the heck out my arms on the Blodget)
Cooking is a breeze, and seems to use allot less energy that firing up my built ins.
Preheating feature is really great with the notification beep that it's ready, and saves energy on waiting too long for pre-heat or constantly checking the thermostat, while preping meals.
Enjoying the ability to warm plates while cooking.
Really looking forward to working on my flat-bread projects and will update on other recipes as I experiment.
So far so good. This seems to be designed for long term usage and I appreciate the attention to detail.
I'd like to see a nice pro quality fryer from you guys!...nudge, nudge, wink wink.

Scott - The best convection oven ever! Well, my convection oven went out on me this week. This will be my second oven within 5 years. And I wanted a really good oven. So I surfed the web and low and behold there it was, "The Smart Oven" I look at the video explaining how it works and I was very impressed by the way it operates. So my husband ordered it for me and it was delivered this weekend. I think I will have this one for a long time! Thank you Breville!!!
- THE BEST!! After years and years of "cheap" toaster ovens I decided to go all out and buy a really nice one. This is by far the very best oven I've ever purchased or used. It works really well and cooks everything perfectly. It's the first toaster over I've ever used that actually makes good toast! Most toaster ovens either brown only one site or just dry the bread out without actually toasting it, so I've always kept a regular toaster around to make toast. Now I don't need the toaster! Everything I've cooked in this oven has come out perfect. Cleanup couldn't be easier. It's well worth every penny I paid for it!
