March 9, 2016Excellent
"I had the 900XL for 3 1/2 years and recently got the 920XL a couple months ago. It's excellent! Love that you can drain it since we move a lot so the boilers won't burst during shipping. Also the descale option is great and I didn't have that on the old machine. No issues with the 920XL-works great. We've had their grinder for almost 4 years now and it works just as good as it did when we bought it.
The espresso it makes is the best thing (you can make much better lattes than starbucks with some practice and good beans) but the second best thing about buying a Breville is their customer service. They have quickly responded to my questions and an issue with my old 900XL they fixed and have made me a customer for life"
February 22, 2016Commercial Quality for Domestic Use
"I was skeptical initially but this beauty is absolutely remarkable!!! The Breville Dual Boiler truly is commercial grade for domestic use and once you get the hang of it you will never ever look back. I use the BES920XL model and it's the third espresso machine I've owned in the past few years. Previously I had a KRUPS self tamping espresso machine, then the Breville Barista Express, and now the Dual Boiler. Although they're all good quality products the Dual Boiler is unquestionably the Mercedes-Benz option when it comes to overall performance, functionality, ease of use, and high-quality parts. The Breville Barista Express was near and dear to my heart and I had zero plans of upgrading until I came across an amazing deal on the Dual Boiler. Testing them out simultaneously for shot extraction quality and frothing/steam ability, it took no time at all to recognize that the Dual Boiler is head shoulders knees and toes above anything I ever used personally or witnessed. It pulls espresso shots so incredibly well and evenly, and the pressure guage is really handy because it's measured in bar pressure. Frothing has never been super important to me but that was because I never had anything that did a superb job like this does. The dual boiler upgrade not only speeds things up but the adjustable pressure steam wand froths milk excellently. Of course, a learning curve exists but you can become an expert cortado, cappuccino, or latte maker in no time flat. And latte art is a nice bonus too especially if you're making drinks for a crowd of jealous onlookers! I can really go on and on about this machine - it's fantastic. From the perspective of "good, better, and best", I'd say the Breville Barista Express is better and the Dual Boiler is best. Buy the Breville Dual Boiler - you'll love it and will never regret that decision!"
November 5, 2015I'm not sure how I've lived without it
"It's the best espresso you can ever buy! I used to visit Starbucks everyday - not anymore! I love my mornings because of this machine now!!!"
October 26, 2014I love this machine more than life itself
"Seriously, I love my dual boiler so much. What can I say? After years of wanting to be able to do latte art on a lesser machine I finally learned/realized you need a professional quality machine to do it, and that's what this is. It's so much fun to make a great espresso drink and to try your hand at latte art. So what if all I can do is a heart shape and a sort-of Rosetta after a year of trying? I get better with each drink I make! And they all taste great!
Thank you Breville for this wonderful machine! (I have the 900XL)."
August 29, 2014Sorry Starbucks
"I love this machine. I can now make my own decaf iced mochas, cappuccinos, lattes, etc. Previously I had a single boiler machine (another brand). Whenever I wanted to make a drink that included textured milk I had to complete two steps and inevitably the latte would get too cool in the process. With this Breville dual boiler there's no waiting. The frothing wand is plenty long enough, the pressure is controllable, and the espresso shot can be made while frothing. There are many other features such as instant hot water for tea or to warm a cup, the unit is easy to move on the counter, it is user friendly, etc. There are a bunch of programmable functions which I haven't yet gotten into, so you can use them or not, its up to you.
If you were to consider the lost revenue to Starbucks this machine has caused, in my home alone,....I would say the Breville Dual Boiler Espresso Machine is a bargain. Enjoy!!
BTW I also purchased the Breville Bean Grinder and it too is an excellent machine. I have never before had such great coffee at home."
