Great fast/slow cooker

"If you have any space constraints (like I do) you'll love the dual functionality of the Breville Fast/Slow Cooker. I've made many pressure cooked meals in it, and they turned out great. Contrary to the other reviewer I did not have a problem using my regular bamboo tools when sauteeing onions. There are also plenty of recipes on the internet and there are great pressure cooking cookbooks as well. My only wish is that timing could be set for longer than 8 hours. "

GOOD AND NOT SO GOOD

"Yes, it cooks fast cooking lentils perfectly in 35 minutes (the representative had told me to do 45 minutes). However, I wanted to slowly sauté onions first and the setting is clearly for braising meat. The onions browned (and fast). I do not think there are nearly enough recipes in the manual and since is a new type of cooking the owner should not have to go through the guesswork of adjusting recipes. Also, it need extra heat resistant plastic tools ( your old ones will not work) and they are short and stocky when you are trying to reach to the bottom of a deep pot). As I suspected, I burned myself. Brevillle, give us some longer tools. I also don't like that the pot you cook food in does not have handles to pull it out -also a possible burning situation. However, since I have not had it for long, I'm giving it a good recommendation, wait for Breville to provide better recipes and tools and hoping for the best."
