May 22, 2011AWESOME *****
"I am SO glad that I purchased this mixer instead of the KitchenAid. First off, it's more powerful. I used it this AM for the first time making sweet potato breakfast brownies and it was AMAZING.......cleanup a snap, quiet, powerful, and VERY sturdy. LOVE IT......if you're in doubt between this one and a KitchenAid, get this one.....you WON'T regret it! "

"I went to your Australian site to view what products may be available there vs here (USA). I was wondering why the mixer there, which has a similar model number, looks identical and seems to have identical features ahs a motor rated at 1000 watts and a motor warrantee of 5 yrs vs 550 watts and one year warrantee in the USA? I do note that the Australian version is priced significantly more expensively (around $500 A$), but would like the option to buy the more poewerful motor and longer warrantee. Also, can you comment on your transmission gearing - cut metal gears vs plastic vs die cast metal, etc.
I've been reasearching the market to replace my wife's 15 year old Kenwood based mixer and am intrigued with your entry. I'm also interested in your countertop oven and your indoor smart grille.
December 21, 2010Need colors!
"I read the article in Australian Vogue and it had the color mixer. After going online to order one, I found out that the colors aren't available in the USA. I can see that others share my sentiment. Please carry some colors - I just love your design but I want the colored model. Thank you!
Thanks for your feedback Leslie, we're working on it."
December 5, 2010Me new best friend
"I attended a holiday cookie class at Sur La Table in Arlington, VA and had the pleasure of using the Breville mixer. I have found my new best friend in the kitchen. This mixer in remarkable. The best feature for me, among the many options, is the Scraper Beaters - I know that this is corny but it was love at first scrape. I will definitely be using this product in my new business Eden Good. Thank you Breville for manufacturing this "perfect" mixer and a special thanks to Sur La Table for introducing this product to me."
December 3, 2010I am in love....
"For the past three years or so I have been dreaming about a KitchenAid. After extensive research (which means a whole lot of reading, LOL) I came to the conclusion that I no longer desire a KitchenAid. Now I am dreaming about the Breville... Maybe Santa Claus will read my letter this year! LOL... Unseen, not used - I am already rating a 5*. I have a gut feeling about this machine; my soon to be new friend. (Still looking for a really good deal on the net) --- Not made in the USA, but then: I am pretty sure I won't miss any sleep over that! "
October 19, 2010BREVILLE STAND MIXER IN COLORS?
"I would like to extend my appreciation to Breville for introducing the stand mixer to the US market. It's a very sleek, professional and powerful appliance anyone would love. I am looking into purchasing another one of these mixers. I did research on the Breville Australian website to find out they had this mixer available in colors! Breville USA is not currently considering the availability of color in its products, but I hope they will soon. I would love a mixer in the Mulberry Blue color to match my kitchen. Breville USA please sell the mixer in colors on your website! I also think US retailers like Williams-Sonoma would love to sell them in colors even if they were to be special orders.
Thanks for the review and feedback regarding the stand mixer. At this time we do not have plans to offer the stand mixer in other colors. I will however pass your thoughts on.
May 26, 2010OutSTANDing Stand Mixer
"The stand mixer sends a serious statement to anyone entering your domain that you are serious about your cooking and serious about the equipment you use. Whether you use your mixer to mix batters for cakes, meringues for pies, or to give potatoes a good whipping, or you wish to use accessories which allow for other functions like grinding meats, kneading breads, stuffing sausages or making pastas--a stand mixer is hard to beat based on its versatility and its ability to make tasks like whipping and beating simple. Up until this point, this niche has been almost exclusively dominated by The Kitchenaid Company which first introduced the H-5 stand mixer over 90 years ago in 1919. Kitchenaid now boasts a full line of stand mixers in a variety of colors and specialty models including the pink Artisan "Cook for the Cure" stand mixer honoring Breast Cancer month, the red 90th anniversary edition released last year and even a US $900 Coppertone model. I say all of this to say that despite these prolific offerings already on the market, there is clearly room for competition. Breville, the Australian housewares company known for many products including panini presses, juicers, blenders and espresso machines has taken a bold step by introducing a new stand mixer this spring. By going where few other companies have gone before, they have developed a mixer that adds modernity, useful features, sophistication and a great price point that will undoubtedly provide many cooks in the market for stand mixers with a tempting option. This new stand mixer is a delight to use with many surprising features not found on other models including an LCD screen that indicates your mixing level the way that a stereo inflects the treble and bass of a pop tune. The design which includes a beautiful die cast stainless finish, harnesses the motor and includes a handle that is easy to manuever. The push button release ensures that the machine head locks in place both when in use and when in the tilt-back position. A ten-minute backlit LCD timer allows for a unique countdown feature which allows you to effectively time your mixing, a perfect feature for a novice baker and a convenient one that allows the experienced baker who also likes to multitask and move between the stove, refrigerator, oven and other appliances to do so without always having to monitor the mixer. Twelve different mixing speeds allow you to perform every task from folding to mixing to whipping to aerating with ease. Sold exclusively in the US at Williams-Sonoma, the mixer retails for a competitively priced US $299.95 and comes equipped with a 5-quart stainless steel mixing bowl, a splash guard and three additional attachments including a flat beater, dough hook and wire whisk. The scraper beater syncs with the planetary dual mixing rotation action of the head to effectively scrape the sides of the mixing bowl, to effectively mix all ingredients which provides professional results. The dial is also a wonderful feature that lets you easily turn on the machine, pause it and increase the speed of the mixer. The mixer has a powerful 550 watts and is an easy to move 16 pounds. The motor purrs like a well-tuned engine in a luxury vehicle at both high and low speeds. "
