Using the 'S' blade, cut through the toughest jobs in seconds in the extra large 16-cup (3.8L) bowl. Or, for finer chopping tasks, the mini processing bowl is the perfect size for small quantities. Great Product!

"We bought ours from Sur La Table after an extensive comparison of other food processors. I had another brand with multiple bowls that got destroyed, so we were actually taking a chance switching to Breville when we could have simply re-bought what I had before.

Results: A fine workhorse that has us delicately washing it by hand after each use. True, it is dishwasher safe, but we don't want to risk getting any scratches on it.

How often we use it: Well we cook almost every night, and we use it with over half of meals, and often more than once per meal. Since we bought it ~3 years ago, that would qualify as heavy use.

Favorite blade: Definitely the adjustable slicer. From paper thin cucumbers for Sunomono, to thick 'tater cuts for french fries, this feature of the Breville sets it apart from others.

The actual french fry cutter has more roles that described in the manual. If you feed any kind of long, thin matter into it, such as green beans, or strips of carrot or celery, you get deliciously sized, random chunks.

Areas for improvement: Only two. 1) The lid of the blade box binds on opening. The clear top pops loudly as it clears the base when opening. I could machine it, but it hasn't bothered us that much yet. 2) The small bowl's metal blade gives a metal taste when making Mayonnaise or Aioli. Would be nice if a plastic blade were available.

In summary, while we love our cutlery, this fine tool has spared us many hours in the kitchen: A++

Failed in less than one year, rarely used, so sad...

"Watch out, stopped working in just 10 months. Bought mine new from an eBay vendor. I was unaware that Breville will not fix it under warranty since I did not buy it from what they call an authorized vendor. Bought it new, it is made by Breville, and it is the real thing. It fails in less than a year and I am left to find a way to resolve it. I am angry. Nothing like using the fine print on page three of the warranty to shirk responsibility for keeping a customer satisfied. Now, they have me, a guy that will communicate my dissatisfaction over and over and over. Now, I need to see if I can get the original vendor or eBay to step up. However, it is still a $400 processor that did not even run for a year. That sucks.

Two stars because it is a wonderfully designed product. It would have been five stars until today. Oh well..."
