good machine......

"It's lasted a few years of daily usage with my partner at the helm who shows no machine any mercy, however the powder coating has peeled off in several places and as someone else mentioned, some of those plastic parts could be a bit more durable or made out of steel......esp at $300. That said, the fact that the basket has lasted as long as it has is impressive given the daily punishment."

Commercial Quality For The House

"What else can I say this juice extractor has quality and efficiency written all over it. Just look at the specifications. Titanium, stainless steel, and die cast stainless casing. "

Here's the deal....

"Scenario ---- had a juicer for years, Juiceman Pro; chute small so lots of cutting required which resulted in looking for new large chute juicer to save prep time. Bought a Kuvings GMPD931U Centrifugal Juicer from Amazon. It was TERRIBLE (read my review on that one). Returned it --- and Amazon made it easy and emailed acknowledgement of refund VERY quickly --- NICE!!! Thanks! In the meantime, read reviews all over the place and decided on this juicer. Just gave it a good workout, and...

Results --- it made outstanding juice --- far better yield and dryer pulp (is that the right word?) than any other juicer. The juice was more liquidy, and better tasting because of the fineness of the juice (no gritiness). Very impressive juice! Cleanup, took about the same amount of time as any juicer --- except the Kuvings which was much longer --- lots of crevices. This Breville has smooth edges and the stainless comes clean much quicker and easier than the plastic on the other two juicers I've used. Very pleased with the cleaning experience. And no juice got to the 'turner' under the screen thing and its holder. Also, NO JUICE OR PULP got outside the juice holder nor the pulp holder --- which kept the machine itself clean as well as the countertop. So in retrospect and compared to the other juicers I'll up my cleaning grade to "I don't see how it could be better" (which is my top score).

Other factors --- This juicer is super-well built. The design is fantastic, heavy duty, built for the long haul. Especially impressive is the expelled pulp bin, which fits tight and doesn't allow any of it to be flung outside the container and onto the machine or countertop. Also, the juice holder is extremely well designed and keeps the juice from flinging outside a glass or other capture container. Another great thing about it is the size of the juice container. Because this machine is big, the spout sits higher than my other juicers; allowing a larger container (which comes with this unit and is extremely well-designed for this purpose. This saves time over others in keeping things clean (no splatters outside the supplied container --- WELL designed!!!) as well as eliminating the need to stop to empty a small container into a larger container as with the other juicers. I can juice a LARGE glassful of juice without stopping. One more thing is the quality of the overall unit and motor. The noise was not an issue at all, even though I was a bit concerned after reading some reviews. The motor is so powerful and smooth that any noise is pleasant. The low speed is quiet and I'd rate the high speed as 'medium' --- but not annoying at all because it is a smooth quality sound. And the juicing of the fruits and veggies is very fast and smooth. I even got cocky and put three large carrots in at once --- great results. The stainless build and the heavy metal bar/clamp that holds down the 'head' assembly is better than the plastic clamps on each side of the exterior like the other units I used. It is secure and is sleek. The overall look of the unit is fantastic. Best looking appliance in the kitchen. It's actually a little too tall to fit on the counter under the wall cabinets --- but I told my wife that since it's the best looking appliance in the kitchen we should just keep it in the middle of the kitchen table (she didn't say anything). So that means --- GREEN LIGHT!!! She loves it tooooo!!!!

Hope this honest, straightforward review is helpful. It would have been to me because I really was hesitant to spend $275 for a juicer and I looked for any negative in juicer reviews I read to eliminate juicers from making my cut. Even though there were some negative comments I took a chance on this one because of all the positives I read. I'm very glad I did and feel that I'll juice more because of buying this one; which ultimately is the goal. The extra $s were well spent for me. Oh, one more thing. I was tempted to go with a remanufactured one to save $s but persuaded myself not to (increased risk --- something was wrong with it once and was it REALLY fixed??). I found a few other sites where I could have saved a couple of $$$s on the same juicer new (including shipping), but Amazon made return of the other juicer (Kuvings) so easy and hassle free I decided to spend a couple of extra $s to buy it from them --- just in case I didn't like this one either. Nice going Amazon. It's a pleasure doing business with you, you giant corporation! Overall, if you can squeeze enough nickels and pennies together to get this one because you want the quickest and best quality juicing experience you can get, buy this one from Amazon --- it's really worth it. Fabulous Juicer!!

"My husband gave me this juicer for my birthday last year. On average, I use it 6 days a week (sometimes 7), and it is, simply put, a pleasure to use. The machine is powerful, easy to clean and makes fantastic juice. A well-built piece of equipment; worth every penny."

Best Juicer ever made!

"Warning, Long preview!

I spent countless hours online looking for a new juicer to replace the $20 one my husband bought my for Christmas. I was just going to buy another "Cheap" machine until I started to look for the "Best Juicer" made. And do you know when you type into the Google search engine "Best juicer to buy" up pops countless pictures of the Breville Fountain Elite and other breville machines. How crazy is that? So i searched for reviews online. I do spend $300 to often. I searched high and low for a bad review and I simply could not find one. Everyone who owns this machine is absolutely in love with it!
But $300? Could I really spend that on a juicer? So I weighed the pro's and cons.

Pro's:
Well built
30% more juice
stainless steel
easy to clean
grinds everything!
less waste

Con's:
Price tag

I figured in the end I could over the next year spend 3 times as much on produce and fruits because the cheap machines waste so much. And I could spend $40-$140 over the next year or so replacing the crappy machine that simply does not work and is a mess to clean. Or, I could trust all the reviews and spend the $300. And that I did. Lucky for me, QVC had it on flexpay so I was able to pay for my new machine in 4 easy payments.

When the machine arrived I was so impressed. It was large, heavy and well built. But not heavy in the sense that you cannot move it around and not to big where you cannot leave it out on your countertop in even the smallest kitchens. The large 3" mouth was amazing to me. I was used to a 1 1/2 inch crescent shape moon opening where I had to cut even a kiwi fruit into pieces in order to fit!

Assembly was a synch! I had the machine put together in less than 3 minutes. I made my first glass of juice using a personal watermelon I had waiting for this masterpiece. I chopped the Mellon up (Barely) and had juice in seconds! I have used the juicer many times since and the same quality every single time. High end performance with almost no waste in the catch bin at all!

And clean up? Clean up was a breeze. My previous machine have like 15 different white plastic pieces that had to be cleaned. There were so many places you simply could NOT clean and mold began to grow. Ewwww! This machine had 4 large pieces to clean (If you don't include the waste bin because I place a bag in that) All of which can go in the dishwasher. But who does a load of dishes every day? I don't. So I needed it to be easy to wash by hand as well. And it is! Because almost all the parts are stainless steel, it cleans to easily. And it comes with this stiff brush to clean the blade. Super helpful!
It takes me about 5-7 minutes to wash the entire machine by hand once I am done.

The ONLY thing I do not like about the machine is where the locking steel bar clamps down to the plastic lid. There is a clear plastic "Lip" which meets the steel bar to lock on. Only, mine doesn't hit the mark every time and has started to scratch the plastic.

All in all, I am VERY happy with my purchase and I am so glad I made the decision to make "Breville" a house hold name. I know I will have this machine for years to come. I just cannot say enough about it. The machine is so beautiful and great at its job. I make fruit and veggie juicer on a weekly basis.

Simply awesome!!!

"I've been juicing for over 15 years and I used a lot of juicers and I find this one to be one of the best!"

Great piece of gear!

"I love the power of this juicer! I've been making great juices every day since I received this amazing gift. I find it to be incredibly easy to clean. I rinse with hot water, only needing to scrub the blade/screen. Just two minutes after each use and it looks like new. This juicer is now a prized possesion of mine. Thanks Breville (and Carolyn)."

Almost There!

"This juicer is a powerful product. I purchased the 800JEXL and with its powerful motor, you get great juice. However, for this to be a great product, the plastic parts need to be eliminated!
This would be a better machine if all parts were metal and fit properly. Because this is not the case, cleanup after juicing extends to counter tops and backslashes nearby covered with juice and pulp that has oozed out from the top cover and sides during processing. The troubleshooting advisory on this is to clean juicer basket more thoroughly, but that does not eradicate the problem.
