Prior to extraction, the unique 15 bar Triple-Prime™ pump automatically releases three bursts of hot water into the filter head. The increased pressure allows the machine to extract more créma, giving the coffee a rich, smooth texture and taste. |

Both of the filters incorporate Breville’s dual-wall créma technology. Beneath the first wall is a second wall with a single exit hole. This produces back pressure inside the head which helps to extract more flavor from the coffee. |

The stainless steel steam wand produces continuous dry steam for barista-style milk and froth. It is mounted on a swivel ball for easy maneuverability. The wand also dispenses hot water on demand. |

Excellent machine - , Review by Sergio
Rating Just like having a coffee at an Italian restaurant. Just look for the best coffee for espresso machines you can find.
The only drawback is that it is too noisy (I am not sure why)

expresso comeswatery with very little 'crema ", Review by Mrs Gjuzi
Rating i've had this espresso machine for about a year now, i was very excited since i love my espresso in the morning , but after a while that typical expresso thick creme , was lost , now it comes more watery and i am not a happy camper. I know what a good espresso looks or tastes like....and that is not it. I have changed the coffee manufactures( only but the best espresso Italian imported coffee i buy). I tried heating it up a little more before i made my espresso but still the same thing. I am disappointed since i got great feedback at the beginning when i bought it and now....its nothing like at first. Breville is a great brand and it has lived up to its name , and i feel unfortunate to have to write this comment but i hope it will resolve soon , i will keep you posted.

I Love My Breville!, Review by Karen Webster
Rating I love the design, and size. I appreciate not having to drive to a coffee shop. One problem - after a year, the rubber on the steam wand is breaking apart. Can I order that replacement part? Thanks! Karen (Posted on 11/18/09)

My first greatest espresso machine, Review by mai coffee
Rating This is my first espresso maker..I'm glad i bought it. This precious machine complete my day even after a hard day of work...i havn't tried using other espresso maker beside to die-cast espresso machine so i can't compare to any other machine...At first i was so excited preparing my own latte but afterwards i got tired of grinding and tamping..though i still love my first espresso maker, but it would be great to have the "Barista Express" in my posession, no more grinding & tamping...=) (Posted on 11/14/09)

good machine, Review by tobias
Rating i have had this machine for a little while. i don't believe it takes thousands of dollars to get a good cub of coffee. i am preheating the cups with the warm up cycle water. this has cured my only real gripe.
how do i get the single wall filter?
Hi Tobias,
We are working on a single wall filter for this unit. Thanks for the feedback.

Great machine however, there is one flaw..., Review by Pucca
Rating This is a great espresso machine. Heats up water fast and the steamer function is great. The only flaw that it has is in regards to the water bucket which moves out of place when the machine is turned on (due to the vibration) and when the espresso function is turned on. As the machine initially starts or when the espresso drips the water buckets slowly moves forward and needs to me pushed back. (Posted on 11/11/09)

nice machine one flaw, Review by wideglide
Rating works excellent for the price, the one flaw is the double wall filter. The backpressure created by the double wall should be created through the fineness of the grind and the amount of pressure applied as it is tamped in the filter. I would love to have a single wall filter available so I could pull the shot as I want it. Please Mr. Breville, consider this as an option for experienced users.

Excellent Home Machine, Review by lkb
Rating This machine is easy to use and makes wonderful espresso with nice crema. The steamer wand isn't as forceful as I'd like, but it does the job. I'd recommend this espresso machine to anyone. (Posted on 10/21/09)

Great Home Expresso Machine, Review by clee1052
Rating My wife bought me this a year ago, and it works flawlessly. Froths milk perfectly with ease. Clean up isn't that bad, just a wipe, and run some clean water through...You will Love It! (Posted on 10/12/09)
