One potential DANGER, otherwise FANTASTIC -
"I really only needed a new toaster oven. I did a fair amount of research and found that MOST well-built, highly rated toaster ovens these days are now built with a convection feature. I've used a full-size convection oven for years and felt that if I was going to get a toaster oven with convection I would look and weigh my options. This countertop oven is UNBELIEVABLY FABULOUS! The top DOES get hot, but I've found that useful as a warmer by placing a piece of foil over what I've already cooked and setting it on top of the oven while I cook the rest of the dinner. One SERIOUS problem that I've found (the only problem at all) is this: I love that when I open the door to the toaster oven the attached magnets on the inside of the door PULL the rack out to the extent that rack and door are touching as the door opens. HOWEVER, once the door is laying flat on the countertop (and therefore disengaged from the rack) the rack itself continues to slip forward. I know the rack and whatever is on it will end up on the floor FOR SURE, but worse, whoever is taking out the toasted/cooked food (if they don't know about the sliding rack) is going to instinctively grab the rack to keep it from falling!!! Someone is going to burn themselves badly.
A "STOP" NEEDS TO BE ADDED TO THE OVEN/RACK that can be easily overrode to fully extract the rack AS YOU WISH. Luckily, my husband is a Mechanical Engineer and will create a solution for it.
Otherwise, the oven is fabulous. I'd like to add that because the small oven is SOOOO good and uses soooo much less energy to preheat and maintain temperature, it is more efficient and I therefore use my Breville toaster oven long before I would choose to use my regular oven. I can't rave about how wonderful the oven it enough! It's GREAT. It's RELIABLE." -

Close but no cigar - Not tall enough. -
"I for the most part love the oven. It does a great job. My only problem is that inside the oven is not tall enough. I like to bake my own bread and use a La Cloche. The La Cloche is about 2 inches higher than the inside of the oven. I have an old Hamilton Beach oven that I used to use and now have to break it out so that I can bake my bread. I don't use it for anything else but if the Breville were just a couple of inches higher in side I would not need the old oven at all.
I live in a studio apart where the landlord does not furnish an oven so these smaller ovens are the only choice. The Breville works out fine except for the height issue. Would not even need much to raise it and it would not add much to the size of the oven. Ir would make the product a whole lot better IMNSHO.
With all the blogs on the internet about baking your own bread and the sourdough revolution going on, it would seem to be a smart move on the part of Breville, especially since the quality is already there." -

This is" THE BEST" of The Bunch -
"Their are toasters and toaster ovens, but if you want the very best buy the Breville Smart Oven.
Since i have purchased this item{which has only been a couple of months} I have used it for numerous items, toast, bread, cookies and a couple of casseroles. It is great, its easy to use and very easy to keep clean. I wish it had been available twenty years ago. Great item for any kitchen. Thanks for a great product." -

Fantastic appliance! -
"I use this ALL the time to make breakfast casseroles, hot rolls, dinner dishes, fresh hot cookies for my son/son's friends visiting from college.... My Italian husband loves his toast & was unsure if he'd like a toaster oven vs toaster. A week later, we put the toaster to the curb. It's nice to have a lot of toast or bagels ready all at once too.
I like how it preheats fast so I can get started cooking. Even making sauce today, decided to bake meatballs at 350 degrees for 20 minutes instead of messing up the stove with a large skillet. Fabulous! Best kitchen purchase I've made in a long time!" -

Our first Convection Oven -
"We thought about purchasing a convection oven for over a year and finally decided on this one. There were so many to choose from and we did our research on Breville and I am just hoping that this product is as durable and long lasting that is claims to be. I have never owned a Breville product before. So far it is working great! If it keeps it up, I will for sure purchase more Breville products in the future. It is very user friendly which I love. "
