"My home oven is slowly dying and since I'm a household of one I am in no hurry to purchase a new one. Consequently, I searched the web for toaster oven reviews which is how I came upon the Breville Smart Oven.
Breville was the highest rated toaster oven on several sites, i.e., Amazon, BBBeyond, etc., so I made a trip to my local Bed Bath Beyond ready to purchase. They had every toaster oven BUT the Breville, which was sold out, so that in itself served as a positive testimony.
I've only used the oven twice (frozen pizza & cinnamon rolls) and so far have been VERY impressed. Both items cooked more quickly than the recommended time by about 2-3 minutes so I'd suggest keeping an eye on the first few items until you get a feel for cooking times. Other reviews can attest to oven's quality when it comes to large entrees such as chickens, casseroles, etc. Other than the much too quiet bell on the timer I'd HIGHLY RECOMMEND the Breville Smart Oven. "

"I also got a first run oven but on mine all I get is eo-1and nothing else I called the store and it was suggest that I return it for another, 30 miles one way,2 times =120miles, breville you get no stars from me

"Love this oven but after using it for awhile, the door hinges would start to squeak and make a grating noise. So, every time I use it and open the door of the oven, I thought I am using a cheap toaster oven (eg. black and decker, sunbeam, etc...) until I notice that it is a 'breville'. I am just happy that I bought this at Williams-Sonoma where they back up the products that they sell. So, to make my long story short, I just got my third breville and I hope the hinges on the door would not make the same squeaky and grating noise on previous two breville toaster oven. Despite this problem, I am happy with the functionality of this oven. "

"I went to Macy's today to buy a replacement for my old DeLonghi toaster oven. I looked at all the brands including Cuisinart, Kitchen Aid, and Calphalon. None of them could compare to the quality of this oven. The construction is solid, the design is smart, and the features are sensible and easy to use. After the easy break-in instructions, I baked a coconut custard pie and it came out perfect. For any serious cook, this appliance is a true winner. "

"After having such a pleasant experience with quality and performance of my Gourmet Single Cup Coffee brewer, I just purchased the Smart Oven XL1800. Again, a perfect combination of form, function and quality. I LOVE this oven. After the initial "burn-in" recommendation, I roasted a 4 pond chicken with olive oil, lemon pepper and stuffed the juice lemon halves in the cavity. 2 hours later, the result was a perfectly browned, moist and succulent roased chicken. The convection feature is SO quiet, I don't even hear that it's on! Thanks again for combining beauty and function into your quality appliances."

"I just unpacked this oven and did the initial 15 minute burn off in pizza mode. The error code E03 came on and I had to unplug the unit.
