"This is the best little oven out there!!!! It does exactly what it states it will do, and it cooks evenly. We have used it for everything from toast to roast and it is reliable. The unit is compact so housing lights and other frill features of a full size oven aren't included and not necessary. Awesome!"

"Hi...we just bought the oven and we absolutely love it. We're able to cook food rather quickly since it takes no time at all to preheat. I just wanted to make a comment with regards to flex's post regarding the indicator light. A light would be nice but I don't find it absolutely necessary. Should you decide to add a light to your oven, please make the light replaceable should the light ever burn out. Seems like every microwave oven I've bought in recent times is build so the light can't be replaced when it goes out because it's usually buried deep behind the paneling and they don't make a panel to make changing the light possible (unless you're a professional)."
January 3, 2010Love it got it as a Christmas gift but error message
"I bought this oven for my daughter and her family for Christmas. When we opened it my husband said, "We should keep this one and send them one in the mail" as they live 900 miles away and flew in for Christmas. I did order one and had it shipped to them
We LOVE IT..however this morning we had this message on the display E 01 ??? Couldn't find any info in the booklet which explained this, but did unplug and plug back and it was fine. So what is that and how did it happen?
I also was excited that Rachel Ray had it on her show as one of her favorite items...that was after I bought mine.. I know we are going to really enjoy it...

December 26, 2009New oven quit working first time I used the bake function
"I set up the oven following the instructions. The burn in cycle went fine. The next day I toasted two slices of toast with excellent results. That evening I cooked some biscuits. I set the oven to 350 degrees and 10 minutes. I pressed the start button. Once it was pre-heated I put in the biscuits. When the time left reached 4:53 minutes it quit changing. I could not turn the oven off with the cancel function. After a few minuites I had to pull the plug. Now the oven does not even light up when I plug it in. It seems to be a fine piece of equipment, but a fine machine that does no work is causing me to bring out the old $29 toaster oven.

I don't always write reviews on products but in this case I have to say I am a Breville convert. This has turned out to be the perfect oven for my household - since it's just me and my husband. I almost never have to crank up the ''big'' range anymore. The Breville handles large size pizzas, two of my ceramic bakers, a 13x9 pan, etc. Just last night while I roasted some tomatoes in the oven, I put my two pasta bowls on top of the oven to keep them nice and warm for serving. I have wrapped some rolls/bread in foil and gently warmed as well. And with this being a convection style it acts just like a full size convection and I can usually shave a few minutes off of cooking times - so it saves time and electricity too. Overall I would say this has been the best appliance I have invested in a long time.
By the way, after years of being fond of two other main brands. Now we have also bought the Breville two slice toaster, when I said why - my husband said he thought it ''looked cool" (SMILE)!! And last month we purchased the Breville Single Brew Coffee Maker - awesome for a quick cup of afternoon brew!!
Now if only Breville would make a food processor. Are you listening Breville guys!!
December 25, 2009oven doesn't turn off after using "toast"-function - although power indicator does turn off
"Unfortunately I have to give "The Smart Oven" a 1 star rating - I just tested my mom's new Smart Oven, since she reported a problem with it - turns out to be absolutely reproducible.
The oven doesn't turn off after using the "toast" function! It works perfectly fine on all other functions (as a matter of fact we're both impressed on how well it works!) - but using "toast" and after the timer has run down, the power indicator (the red glowing ring around Start/Cancel button) will turn off - but the heating coils won't! No other way to stop them than to unplug it the entire unit, as it will continue to toast at full power.
It works perfectly fine again after plugging it in again - as long as we don't use the toast function; the problem is absolutely reproducible and I will contact Breville about this right after posting this.
Amazon's reviews show that some other customers experienced similar problems - just read through the helpful-marked 1 star ratings (just posted a comment there as well)"
