"I purchased the Die-Cast 4 Slice Toaster and experienced a problem with the one side of the toaster not operating properly (out of box failure). Customer service at Breville was outstanding. The customer service representative spent 15 minutes troubleshooting the problem and when we could not resolve it over the phone arranged for a new toaster to be sent. I received an online pre-paid Fed Ex return label and within 1 week I had a brand new perfectly working toaster. I'm a realist and understand that things break, and Breville stands behind their products.

Now for the toaster….it’s awesome, working great and I’ll continue to add Breville products to my growing collection, (Ikon Juice Fountain and Wok) 5 Stars for great product and great customer support!

"I have looked for years for a toaster that simply was consistent. I received my first Breville appliance as a gift, the 4 slice smart toaster. I found the setting I like and EVERY time it comes out exactly the same, both sides. The ability to toast only the face of a bagel is wonderful. Knowing how long I have before the toast is done is a bonus (I want everything to be ready to apply to my toasted product so it doesn't sit there getting cold), and yes I am an engineer.
I now have the Breville single cup brewer as well. Look I am cheap and don't normally go out and buy the most expensive product on the market, but I also understand the value of quality. Thank you, Breville for giving me a few things less to worry about in the morning. I like that.

"Been suffering for years with toasters that do not toast the same color on both sides of a piece of bread. This one does! The feature I call "Take a peak" that allows me to check the color of the toast and the feature that allows me to toast the bread a little more if it is not done enough after the toaster thinks it is done are great bonuses. I've had this thing just two months. If it keeps working as it is now, it will be a winner. The only problem I have is that the toast is so nicely toasted that I am eating more toast. Rye dipped in really flavorful olive oil is my favorite."

"I have had the toaster for over a year and it is absolutely amazing. The toast is always consistant and you can check on the amount it has toasted before the cycle is done. We had a problem that was totally our fault and although it was still working the customer service person I spoke to didn't want to chance anything so they replaced it with a new one. Not only would I recommend this toaster but I would feal very comfortable buying any of there products. Again GREAT TOASTER AND GREAT COMPANY!!!!!"

"I'm pretty old now, and I have been through one heck of a lot of toasters, from Germany to the U.S.A., from the early ones where you opened up a door of each side to turn the bread around to toast the other side to the modern motor operated ones, and this Breville is the first that actually lives up to its claims. It toasts evenly on both sides, accepts all reasonably sized and types of bread and does a decent job on bagels. In fact, it is the only toaster I have owned that really toasts evenly, apparently no small accomplishment since all companies claim it, but none live up to what they promise. It is also incredibly fast in doing its job, and is very easy to set and clean up. It is true that the "A Bit More" feature is more like a re-warm function, but so what....the re-warm function is more useful anyway, and lowering the toast for a shorter setting is easily done manually. It is expensive, it fact 3 times the price of the Russell Hobbs (A past "Best Toaster") it replaced, but it actually does 3 times better a job in bread handling and toasting. No more digging around in the slots for shorter bread slices, and no more fetching light in weight pieces of toast that shoot across the room (One of the more fun features of the Russell Hobbs....really....gives it personality). 100% recommended! i own the Die-cast 4-Slice Smart Toaster: BTA840XL.
