It is OK -
"We replaced a Braun kettle that we had had for several years and we were excited to get the new Breville. The unit works fine but it seems to lose it heat rather quickly once turned off. One thing to be careful of -- the steam escapes from the spout so if you have it placed under a counter it can steam up the underside. I agree with a previous review that one challenge is that when removed from the base it does NOT turn off -- so be careful when you place it back on the docking station and make sure it is turned off. "

Very Nice! -
"It's a great kettle for the price and works as expected with no problems. Our only complaint is that it doesn't automatically shut off when it's removed from the base (though some folks may like this feature). We really like the bell tone when it shuts off automatically and the soft open lid not only will make the kettle last a long time but is quiet kind of like a soft close toilet seat, only in reverse! I'd recommend this product to friends! "

Absolutely Fabulous -
"I love this kettle! I'm from England, so I was so glad to find a kettle over here that not only looks great but works great too :) We've had it for over 2 years, and we've never had any problems with it, and I've had great fun teaching my husband, whose American, how to use it so he can make me a "spot of tea" (he only drinks instant iced tea!). Thank you Breville for a great product."

Great product -
"I've had one of these for years and have used it practically every day. It still works like a champ. It looks great and is easy to clean. I use CLR on it when the minerals build up. It's too bad some people got a bad switch or sensor - I wouldn't think twice about replacing it with another ikon (that works) and shrugging off the fact that as long as China keeps making cheap crap we'll keep buying it. Clearly someone is doing some things right if I can torture this kettle as I have for this long and it may as well still be new."

Great Product - Still new but very happy -
"I just received kettle yesterday. I had heard that people had experienced problems with them with regard to not switching off. Breville has obviously listened to their customers because this kettle boils up fast and switches off as soon as it comes to the boil. What more can you ask for. It looks great as well. I don't work for Breville, but believe that one should give credit when and where it is due. I look forward to updating this review."

great kettle -
"I've had two of these kettles. the first one didn't shut off and just kept boiling. I took it back and had to wait two weeks for a replacement. It works perfectly. It boils quickly and dings when it's done. I also like the cool light that glows on the side of the unit. Very efficient and fast. Needs to be wiped as the stainless outside shows every drip and spot, but otherwise, I'm very happy with this product."

Auto-off a BIG Turn-off! -
"I love Breville product styling, but function is the most important feature for me. Our kettle worked for a few months after which the auto-off mechanism didn't shut off for at least 5 minutes of rapid water boiling. My husband called Breville and the problem was never resolved to our satisfaction. I now manually turn off the kettle once the water has boiled - which defeats the whole purpose of having an expensive, supposedly top-of-the line auto-off kettle.
This seems to be a recurring problem with these kettles. Why is this so?" -

GREAT! -
"I lived in Europe and had always had a kettle for tea, when I came back to the States I used an old hot pot. For my birthday my spouse purchased this product! I was disappointed that I go such a pratical gift until I had it for a few days! Now I can have a perfect cup of tea everytime and it is great when you have to boil water in a hurry! I use it all the time and now think it is one of the best gifts ever! I have had it for almost two years and never had an issue! "

"We have been using this kettle, give or take, two years now! I just love it... The light is gone but still works perfectly! The water is really boiling unlike all the other kettles in our family's experience!"

Mine broke -
"I've had the kettle for about 5 months and it was working great. It was super fast and retained heat well and the water tasted pretty good. Then a couple days ago it just kept boiling so I manually shut it off. Now it doesn't come back on. But it still makes the ringing sound. I would probably recommend staying away."
