1st one lasted 6 months - 2nd on sounds like it has sand inside the motor

"Obviously a good blender should not be quiet, I think it would be a miracle to design such a device. This blender though is extremely loud and not very effective. It takes a lot of cajoling just to get some frozen fruit to blend nicely and it makes erratic pulsing sounds. My first one died after 6 months of light use and the replacement that arrived sounds worse than the first.

The best way to describe how bad it sounds is to imagine a loud blender that someone threw a handful of sand into the motor. It just sounds grating and like there is some serious grinding going on. The replacement also cannot blend anything well, I had to add 3 times as much liquid to get it to even work. It seems like it is struggling even during cleaning it with water and soap. I would highly recommend not ever buying this blender unless you like subpar products. I have not tried any other blenders in their line but will most likely go with a Vitamix to replace this poorly engineered machine.

I should also note that we have a Breville juicer and smart oven that we love, I was hoping their blenders would be just as top notch but I feel as if it's designed by a completely different company."

Seriously Awesome!

"I love this blender! I have worked at a coffee shop for the last 4 years and we have Vitamix blenders. This mid priced blender works like a pro with ice and frozen fruit! It's a dream machine!"

Excellent

"I'm not sure what the previous reviewer is talking about... I love my Hemisphere Mini!

Frankly, it is not at all loud. It makes some noise, naturally, but do you expect perfect silence while crushing ice and frozen fruit? Compared to all of my previous blenders, it's remarkably smooth and quiet. I've made smoothies and frozen cocktails over and over with perfect results every time.

I thought my previous blender was a good product simply because it lasted more than a year, but the Hemisphere Mini has shown me what I was missing. Wish I'd discovered Breville sooner. Now I want to outfit my kitchen with all Breville appliances."

Quiet? Maybe with a good pair of earplugs.....

"The product description for your Hemisphere Mini Blender states, "....delivers quiet and efficient blending performance...."

The one I purchased yesterday at Bed, Bath & Beyond is so LOUD, I feel as if I'm standing in front of an airplane engine getting ready to take off (I grew up near JFK airport). Since yesterday, I've only used it twice to make two smoothies, however, during the blending process I've noticed it has periodic 'bursts' (explosion) of liquid inside the glass jug. This would make sense if the liquid was either too thick or the ingredients were not chopped small enough, but I checked both times and the liquid was more watery than I had expected and there were no pieces of fruit left to clog the mechanism.

Not a very happy 'Blendmeister' here.... Being the first Breville product I purchased, I'm really disappointed as I was looking to add more Breville products to my kitchen, but if this is any indication of quality, I think I'll have to look elsewhere.
